JOHN DEERE 624J loader with quick hitch
Base Model: ERTL JOHN DEERE high detail 624J loader
Scale: 1:50
I don't know if I'd go as far as calling this a "custom" but here is my modified
JOHN DEERE 624J loader with quick hitch
The model comes factory originally with a quick hitch and detachable bucket
but there are no other attachments that can be used, so I scraped that quick
hitch and installed a quick hitch from a JOAL Volvo L70 loader to allow for a
much more wider variety of attachments to be hooked up. In order to fit
the new hitch onto the 624J the boom tips did need to be slightly
grinded and sanded to compensate for the size difference
By adding the JOAL quick hitch attachments such as lift booms, forks,
snow plows and grapple's can be hooked on to the loader
In order for the original 624J bucket to work on this new quick hitch the old
hitching brackets had to be grinded off and new ones inserted to work
The original Deere hitch with bucket didn't allow for much bucket movement,
but with this new hitch the bucket can tip back far...
...and completly tip down to dump
Shot with the adjustable forks attached
The lifting boom with crane hook
The adjustable angle snow plow
The grapple
This is one of the "high detail" models from ERTL so it does come already
with great details and touches like the opening engine compartments
Although like I said before this isn't really a "custom" but a small little
modification that I did but it does make a huge difference! The 624J is a
greatly detailed model from ERTL this just makes it a little bit better=)
Here's a pic of the loader in action with its forks carrying an I-beam
over to that 365C L excavator for some trench shoring
Here's another in action shot of the 624J, here using its grapple attachment
to carry a segment of pipe to an awaiting CAT 245 excavator
