FMC Link-Belt LS-7400A excavator
Base Models: Joal JS330L
Scale: 1:50
Here is my custom FMC Link-belt LS-7400A excavator. You can get an
idea of the excavators true size by comparing it to that man beside it
I used the JOAL JCB JS330L dipper, bucket, and carbody with tracks, the entire
upper structure was custom fabricated
The boom had to be cut to size and then completed reshaped to match
the real machine
Rear view of the huge molded radiator and counterweight
Painted in the appropriate Link-Belt colors and decaled to match
Dual exhaust pipes
Metal linked tracks
Overlapping boom hydraulic cylinders allow for high boom height...
and incredible digging capabilities
Despite the enormous amount of time and effort I had to put into molding
and fabricating this machine its a piece I've always wanted to build and
add to my collection so I'm quite pleased with how it all turned out
To help scale out the 7400's size here's some shots of it next to a
CAT 385B L excavator

After crawling onto the lowloader the LS-7400A prepares to leave the
yard and gets ready for all the action that lies ahead
Here's a shot of the Link-Belt in action lowering a segment of pipe into
the trench it just dug
